What Every Order Is Held To

Not aspirational. Verifiable. Every claim below has a document behind it.

Finding01Testing Standard

Independent HPLC Testing on Every Batch

Every product lot is submitted to a third-party analytical laboratory for HPLC analysis before fulfillment begins. No self-reported purity numbers. No assumed standards. Every compound ships with a lab-verified Certificate of Analysis documenting compound identity, purity percentage, batch number, and testing date.

The Testing Method

What Is HPLC Testing?
Why It Matters.

HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) is an analytical method that separates the components of a sample by passing it through a column under high pressure, then measures detector response at each component. For peptides, HPLC quantifies purity by measuring the peak area of the target compound relative to all detected material. It is the industry standard for research-grade peptide quality verification.

Self-reported purity

Meaningless. The supplier has every incentive to report favorable numbers. No independent check.

In-house testing

Still a conflict of interest. The lab is owned by the seller. Results are not independently verified.

Third-party HPLC

The only objective standard. An independent accredited lab with no stake in the outcome runs the test and publishes the result.

The Document

How to Read a Peptide
Certificate of Analysis

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a document from an analytical laboratory reporting the results of testing on a specific production batch. A valid COA comes from an independent third-party lab, not the supplier, and is batch-specific rather than generic to a product line.

1

Identify the Issuing Laboratory

The lab name should appear at the top of the document. It must be an independent third-party analytical laboratory, not the supplier itself. If the issuer is the same company selling you the product, the document is not independent verification.

2

Check the HPLC Purity Percentage

Look for the purity figure from HPLC analysis, expressed as a percentage. Research-grade peptides should test at 99% or higher. This must be specific to this batch, not a generic product claim.

3

Note the Batch or Lot Number

The COA is only valid for the specific production run it was issued for. Find the batch or lot number on the document, then cross-reference it with the number printed on your product vial or packaging.

4

Confirm the Test Date

Testing should have occurred within the last 12 to 18 months. A very old test date on a product claiming to be freshly produced is a red flag. The date also tells you how recent the quality data is.

Why the Source of Testing Matters

The Problem With Self-Reported Purity

Most peptide suppliers either do not test their products at all, or run their own in-house analysis. In-house testing has an obvious conflict of interest: the same company that profits from selling you the product also controls the testing. The result is a purity claim with no independent check behind it. It is not a number you can verify.

Why Independent Labs Change Everything

When an accredited laboratory with no financial stake in the outcome tests a compound, the result is objective. An independent lab has professional accountability for the accuracy of its analysis. It has nothing to gain by reporting a favorable number that is not true. Third-party testing does not cost the buyer anything extra at Blackwell BioLabs. It is the baseline standard.

What We Actually Do

Every product batch at Blackwell BioLabs is submitted to Aegis Peptide Analytics, an independent analytical laboratory, before shipping begins. The HPLC results are published as batch-specific Certificates of Analysis on every product page, publicly accessible to anyone. No login. No email. The data is just there, and it is specific to the exact lot you are ordering.
